Description of the watch
The Urwerk UR-110 TTH with its Tantalum hull and the Urwerk UR-110 ST with its grooved AlTiN bezel are new watches of the UR-110 collection.
The case of the UR-110 TH has been crafted in tantalum, one of the strongest available material, known for its resistance to corrosion and its density. The watch comes with a different size, the case is now 4.10 mm thick (2.40 mm for the “standard” UR-110 collection). To reinforce the strong masculine look of this watch, Urwerk added a unique military feature by engraving the registration number on the sapphire crystal. The case looks very raw but it has been sand blasted and satin finished.
The case of the UR-110 ST add one more dimension to this timepiece by adding grooves in the AlTiN bezel. This watch has to be seen AND touched in order to fully appreciate it.
The UR-110 collection is obviously the main collection of Urwerk, the time is shown on the right side of the watch. Three different hours satellites follow an arced line (from 0 to 60 minutes) from the top to the bottom.
The central carousel provides the stability of this complication, the planetary gearing (for the 3 branches) ensures that the rotation is parallel between the three satellites and the three counter-rotating hours modules are mounted on a planetary gear. Those modules indicate the hours (with a rotative cube) and the minutes (on the arced line).
The hours and minutes are read in a linear way and the seconds are displayed on a small discs on the left of the dial. Just below this disc, the oil change indicator (complete rotation in 5 years) will go in the red zone after 3 years (Urwerk recommend to have a service every 2 years). On the top left the Day/Night indication will simply indicate days and nights.
The UR-110 TTH is a limited edition of 55 pieces and the retail price is 100 000 CHF and the UR-110 ST is also limited to 55 pieces.
